Naturopathy is based on two main principles: the first of these being that the most non-toxic medicines are used to restore a person back to health. The second is not to treat a person’s symptoms but to fix the cause of those symptoms.

A diagnostic aid called Iridology, which is where the organs and systems of a body are mapped out in the iris of an eye, is used by the Naturopath to try to get to the root cause of the symptoms. The coloured part of the eye is looked at with a torch that magnifies the area, a very non-invasive technique.

Once this has been established, herbal medicine, flower essences and where applicable, dietary changes with vitamin & mineral supplements are then used to restore the body back to health. The 'symptoms' then disappear, and because they have been treated at the causative level, do not return. As well as restoring a person back to health, Naturopathy aims to teach a person ways in which to prevent the symptoms from reappearing. By suggesting healthy dietary and lifestyle factors a person can look after their weakened areas.

A Naturopath can therefore be of great benefit for any symptom that the body presents, especially if it is an ongoing symptom that the usual orthodox methods of medicine are finding hard to explain. Chronic fatigue syndrome, post viral syndrome, recurrent infections in any area, and chronic painful symptoms benefit particularly from Naturopathic treatment. Many people with cancer of any kind who are undergoing orthodox methods to halt the cancer find extreme benefit in Naturopathy to rebuild their bodies and to develop regimes that will not allow the cancer to redevelop.

Naturopathic treatment teaches people how the body works and how to preclude illness in these areas. It aims to fix not only the symptoms but treats the person as a whole and fixes the causative factors too.

Other ailments that Naturopathy works extremely well for are: Allergies, Arthritis and Rheumatism, Recurrent colds and chest infections, Digestive problems, (bloating, wheat intolerance, IBS), Insomnia, Hypertension, Kidney stones, Migraines, Obesity, Low energy and poor concentration, PMT and Menopause, Stress, Skin problems, Urinary track infections and Weight gain.
